Gallery Joe James has been a landmark in the Rio Bueno area located on the border between the parishes of St Ann and Trelawny for some 53 years.That is how long Joyce Burke James and her late husband,the artist Joe James,have been associated with tourism in Jamaica.Along with her husband Joyce Burke started Gallery Joe James in 1966 to showcase indigenous Jamaican art.They later expanded the business to include a restaurant and in the 1990's they built a small hotel comprising 20 rooms. They undertook the expansion not only because they saw an opportunity to do so but because they had a desire to create employment for members of the community and to fully serve the tourism sector.Through these endeavors they have catered to thousand of visitors to Jamaica. Joyce Burke James has also served her local community in the area of education as Board member of a basic school.Her excellent relationship with neighbouring hotels is also commendable as in the past,she has provided supplies for many.

The Art Centre sells art supplies, the Frame Shop will cover all your framing needs and the Olympia Gallery exhibits an expansive display of Jamaican art. The Art Centre carries a complete range of high quality art supplies, architectural drawing supplies, ceramic, craft tools and materials for students and professionals. Artists strive to use the best materials available in producing their work for longevity, and we provide the most expansive art supplies collection in Jamaica. After the artwork is completed, the Frame Shop is available to frame anything you wish with ready-made frames. And, we also produce custom-built frames to fit any size. Its herb and vitamin selection are well supported, as is its supply of healthy snacks such as dried fruit, nuts and sweets. Our art supply section is frequented by many local professional artists. The home and garden wing contains a wide array of outdoor and interior decor items in all styles, and is often stocked with ornamental bamboo plants and creative garden fountains. We also have a great variety of costumes. We are sponsors of the Liguanea Art Festival, which has become the first choice for art lovers, art collectors, students and teachers of the visual arts, and thousands of Jamaicans, who look forward to meeting their favorite artists in person, visiting their booths, discussing their techniques, and making their purchases at excellent prices.
