AKT Motorcycles has made its Jamaican debut through a dealer partnership with Unicomer Jamaica Limited and its Lucky Dollar brand. Lucky Dollar is diversifying its product line with the inclusion of messenger, sports motorbikes, and scooters from the Colombian manufacturer. The brand will initially carry five types of motorcycles, ranging between 150-200cc as they enter the automotive market. Unicomer started selling AKT motorcycles in December 2012, with Nicaragua being the first country to sell. Since then, Unicomer has sold more than 70,000 units in nine territories. The Lucky Dollar brand currently carries five models of motorcycles, ranging between 150-200cc, as they enter the automotive market. The models AK150SL Messenger, AK 150GT Messenger, AK 150DK Scooter and AK 150PW Sport were selected for the local market based on their expectation to fit the current market and road conditions. As an authorised dealer, Lucky Dollar is extending that affordability to Jamaicans. Lucky Dollar is making it known that AKT motorbike models can be purchased by financing arrangements (between 18-36 months) at any of the 12 Lucky Dollar store locations island wide. AKT motorbikes have a one-year manufacturer's warranty or 12,000km (one free service, with parts and labour).
