Hello, I am a musician and public school music teacher in Canada. I have some Jamaican students and I would like to share some Jamaican music with them. Everyone in Canada knows who Bob Marley is already—I’d like to celebrate other Jamaican musicians and introduce them to my students. I’m open to music from any genre, though anything related to jazz scores high for sure. My students are from ages 5-14. Thank you!

I’m attempting to build a playlist of Patwa songs and want some help locating some gems.

My pre k class is learning about Jamaica. Are there any songs or nursery rhymes that are popular that children in Jamaica learn? We would like to show the class some videos and teach them a little bit about the culture. Anything is helpful.

I wonder because we see Jamaican artists come to America but American reggae acts don't play in Jamaica. What do you think?
