The British High Commission in Kingston has a close working relationship with the Jamaican authorities. There are some 100 persons working on the compound, including 25 UK-based staff. There is an Honorary British Consul in Montego Bay. The Post also covers The Bahamas, with consular work undertaken by an Honorary Consul in Nassau. The High Commission in Kingston is also the regional hub for visa applications for the Caribbean.
